Like with any rating system, vacuum cleaner ratings are determined by a set of criteria set forth by a person or group on what is important to them. There are those that only look at technical information and rate solely on this type of information. There are those that are based on which models and brands are purchased the most and still another that is by consumer’s opinions when surveyed.

I found one rating vacuums that claims to take multiple of factors in determining which vacuum is the best. These factors are value, features, effectiveness, ease of use and consumer reviews.

For this rating group the top five on the market today are the Hoover S3765-040 Wind Tunnel. The reasons given are consistent rate of sucking power, low profile floor cleaning attachment and a good value at for less than $300.

The Dyson DC25 Ball All Floors was picked because of the design that could go places other vacuums of comparable size could not. The suction power was consistent and that the HEPA filtration system was tested to actually clean the air.

Another Dyson in the top five was model DC17 Animal Cyclone. This vacuum cleaner was designed for homes that had pets and need a powerful system to suck up all the animal hair at 220 air watts. This vacuum cleaner comes equipped with a kit to help clean up after pet accidents and it receive great consumer reviews

The second Hoover in the top five is the model F5914-900 Steam Vac. This model has 5 brushes, an eight foot hose and cleans heavily soiled areas with ease. This system can be used as a steam cleaner or just a vacuum cleaner all for under $200.

The last on this list is the Eureka 4870MZ Boss Smart Vac. This model has a three trap system with many attachments on board with a 30 foot power cord all for under $150.

Like all rating systems, these vacuum cleaner ratings are subjected to the reviewers concerns. It is best for consumers to do their own research before making any purchase.

Rainbow vacuum cleaners are considered by those that use them and vacuum experts to be the next generation in vacuum technology. This technology has been applied to help the average person maintain a clean living environment for themselves and their family. Independent tests have been conducted on rainbow vacuum cleaners and the results were that this vacuum cleaner traps 99.997% of all dirt that it picks up.

The history of this company started back in 1929 with the first patent on the process to separate dust from air was filed by John Newcombe and Leslie Green. Together they formed a corporation and called it Rexair, which meant king of the air. In 1941 this corporation merged with Martin-Parry Corporation. In 1955 the vacuum cleaner was redesigned and given a new name, the Rainbow. This was such an improvement from other vacuum cleaners at that time because of the power the vacuum motor had that interest grew in this new cleaner. In 1959 the rights to this new cleaner were purchased by Sanders and Associates. The models did not change much for ten years until 1969 with the first vacuum cleaner by this company was produced that was capable of picking up water. From that point on water became an important part of this cleaning system.

Today this company has developed vacuum cleaners for the international market. This is done by making specific vacuum cleaners for specific parts of the world. With special height adjustors and the ability to water-wash the debris picked up, today’s Rainbow Vacuum Cleaners are considers some of the best cleaning machines in the world.

Steem VacuumThe vacuum cleaner is one of the most popular ways to clean carpets, upholstery, and rugs. However, many people today now prefer steam cleaners over vacuum cleaners as it provides a lot more benefits than what a vacuum cleaner can offer.

Steam cleaners may look like vacuum cleaners and it may even function like one but you will see that steam cleaner can provide a lot more cleaning power than what a vacuum cleaner can provide. For starters, steam cleaners produce high heat steam that will be able to help in thoroughly cleaning your carpets and rugs. The steam will also help protect the delicate fibers of your carpet and upholstery as it will moisturize while it is cleaning it from dirt and dust. In fact, if someone in your home is suffering from asthma, they may even find the steam to be very beneficial for their health when they inhale it.

Another great advantage is that the extremely high temperatures of the steam will ensure deep cleaning of any surface. The steam cleaner will be able to produce steam with a heat of 240 to 260 degrees Fahrenheit at a very high pressure. The heat and the pressure will ensure that even the most stubborn dirt will be cleaned out and the heat will kill germs and other microbes that can be potentially dangerous to your health.

The high heat will even kill dust mites, as well as mold, mildew and other microscopic bacteria that can be dangerous when inhaled.

Steam cleaners are also very cost effective to use. Because you don’t have to purchase expensive cleaning chemicals, you will be able to save a lot of money. With a steam cleaner, you just need to spend money on electricity and water, which is very minimal.

Vacuum Cleaner

Vacuum Cleaner

When it comes to the maintenance and upkeep of the floors, rugs and carpet of a home, just about every household has some form of vacuum cleaner, whether it is an upright or canister model. The number of features possible on a vacuum model is vast. This means that the number of parts it takes to keep the machine in good working condition often increases with each technological advancement where vacuum product features are concerned. This goes from the simplest bagless vacuum cleaner model to the newer brands of vacuums with wet and dry vacuuming capabilities.

The chances of you using one vacuum until the end of time are pretty slim, since everyday or weekly wear-and-tear eventually decreases the strength and effectiveness of vacuum cleaner parts. When this happens, it is time to seek a solution to your unit’s weakened performance. Before abandoning your current model for a new purchase, you may be able to salvage your present model by replacing one or more of its parts.

Vacuum Cleaner Brands Make a Difference

The brand name that you purchase will ultimately determine the kind of costs you should expect in the future when it comes to replacing vacuum cleaner parts. The more popular and extensive the product line is will also determine how easy it will be to locate these replacement parts. You don’t want the hassle of having to special order your parts every time something goes wrong. It is much more convenient to simply drive to the local store and be able to immediately buy the parts you need.

There are numerous vacuum cleaner companies that put out a reputable brand of product when it comes to the picking up of scattered pet hair or the dirt you just spilled on the patio floor. With these small and large cleaning jobs that arise throughout the household, you will encounter a wide-range of vacuum cleaner parts and attachments to make these tasks much easier.

A well-known brand on the market, the Dirt Devil product line has produced an array of convenient hand-held vacuums for us to choose from. With all of the upright stick, canister and hand-held models of vacuums that the company produces, there is also a sizeable line of replacement vacuum parts for a consumer to purchase when their unit is not performing to its usual level of operation.

All vacuum cleaners, at some point in time, need maintenance on their parts, whether they are bagged or bagless, cord or cordless, self-propelled or manually propelled, made especially for pet dander or possess special attachments for allergy sufferers. Through the manufacturer, as well as several catalogs, online and retail stores, you will be able to easily locate the parts that you need to get back into the swing of things. Usually, they do not cost that much.

With Bissell, the replacement parts tend to be a bit pricier because they offer a wider range of products that use a more expensive model to complete vacuuming jobs. Bissell introduces steam cleaners, bare floor vacuums, as well as hardwood floor-oriented steam cleaners, which cost more to make, as well as to replace the parts. Once one of these vacuum cleaners start to go on the fritz, it is better to replace parts than invest the money in a new model.

Commonly Replaced Vacuum Cleaner Parts

One of the most commonly replaced parts on the market is the bag that all of your dirt and grime empties into. Depending on how frequently you use your vacuum or how large your unit is, you could be changing your bag several times throughout the course of a week. This is why it is important to purchase a vacuum cleaner that is easily accessible in terms of store-stocked parts.

For example, if you buy a fancy vacuum cleaner from France, but the bags that it takes are not standard ones available in the U.S., you will have the burden of special ordering these replacement parts, which may or may not arrive in time for your next vacuuming job. This goes for all other vacuum replacement parts for this particular unit. How much extra will you expect to pay over the years? Is it really worth it? The increased maintenance of this model might be too much to keep up with, in regards to both time and money.

You should also remember that the purchase of most replacement parts is not interchangeable when it comes to brand. If you own a Panasonic vacuum cleaner, you will have to buy disposable bags and drive belts that are specific to the Panasonic brand and model you own.

Next to the replacement of the vacuum bag, it is the belt replacement or unclogging of the unit that will also put your vacuum back into tip-top working condition. A clear indicator that your vacuum cleaner is in need of a replacement part is seen through the abnormal sounds or weak suction of your vacuum. You may have a hole in your hose or one of your wheels is not aligned. Whatever the problem, they are usually cured with the simple replacement of dysfunctional parts.

Additional commonly replaced vacuum cleaner parts include the filters, motor fans, bearings, brush rollers, switches, wheels, base plates, bumpers, cord protectors, adapters, hose ends, light bulbs, lens, sockets, plugs, sealing strips, wands, casters and axles. A wide range of convenient attachments may also need replacing, such as brushes and dusters, as well as squeegees. These are usually a much easier problem to solve than trying to work with a vacuum cleaner with a problem motor.

Where to Find Vacuum Cleaner Parts

When it comes time to locate the replacement parts needed to get your model in perfect working condition, there are several avenues to consider. The first involves visiting your local grocery store or home improvement store. If your vacuum cleaner is popular enough, you will find what you need there. For more brand specific parts, you may need to visit a store that specializes only in the sale of vacuum parts.

Finally, you might have to turn to online means of obtaining what you need. There are various online stores offering a wide range of vacuum cleaner parts to choose from, including the official websites of the company where you purchased your model.
